If you are going to be going in to have lasik eye surgery then you are going to want to make sure you are prepared for what comes next. The first thing you should know is that the healing from lasik eye surgery is not very hard to go through. In fact, you should heal so quickly afterward that you will notice how much better you feel sometimes hour by hour, but definitely in just a couple of days or so. However, there are still some things that you should do to better prepare yourself for the whole experience and you can learn about them here:
Designate someone to help you
The first thing you need to do is to make sure you line someone up to help you for those first few days after getting the surgery. You will definitely need to have someone prepared to drive you home from the procedure, because you won't be able to do so yourself. You also want to make sure they can help you with some of the things you may not be able to immediately do for yourself like cooking and taking care of your little ones.
Take a few days off from work
While some people will be able to go back to work after just a day or two following the procedure, you should make sure that you can have at least three days off from work just to be on the safe side. It's better for you to have that extra day or so scheduled off just in case it takes you a little longer to get back to your normal activities than it does most others. If you want, you can let your boss know that you will come back early if you end up healing quickly, but it's best to have that safeguard in place anyway.
Treat yourself to a complete day of rest
You should plan on taking the entire rest of the day off from any and all activities. Even the optometrist will tell you that it's important for you to avoid all strenuous activities for a while and to be extremely careful on day one. This should be a day when you enjoy laying around the house and doing no activities such as housework, cooking, yardwork, exercise or anything else. Enjoy a day of pure relaxation and consider it a much earned vacation.
